Anyone heading to Florida for vacation could be more likely to find themselves sharing a room with some unwelcome guests. Those unwanted guests we are referring to are “bed bugs”.
According to a new study, the city of Orlando has made its way into the Top 50 Bed Bug cities in the United States for the first time.
The study collected bed bug treatment data between December 2017 and November 2018 to find which cities had the most treatments.
Orlando is now number 41, having re-entered the list. The city had fallen off the list last year, but previously appeared at number 38 in 2016, alongside Daytona Beach and Melbourne in Florida.

ELEVATE your luggage and try and keep it on something that’s not made of material, such as a desk, to avoid bed bugs being transported home if they are present.
EXAMINE your bags before taking them home to make sure there aren’t any bugs on them.
PLACE all your clothes on a hot cycle in the washing machine when you get home for at least 15 minutes to kill any bugs.
Those travelers who find themselves in a room with bed bugs should tell hotel staff immediately and remove all belongings from the room.
